Shawdesh Desk: A group of BNP-Jamaat supporters allegedly attacked a peace rally, organised by US Awami League, in front of the UN headquarters during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s speech at the 74th United Nations General Assembly on early Saturday.

US Awami League leaders alleged that Jamaat-Shibir activists carried out the attacks from a BNP rally.

Zakaria Chowdhury, acting president of New York Metropolitan Awami League (AL), said, “Two activist of our party were injured as Bangladesh Chhatra Shibir leaders under BNP’s banner hurled brickbats on us.”
Activists of the local bodies of the ruling party and the BNP gathered outside the UN headquarters to stage competing rallies when the attack broke out.
